If harsh spot treatments
aren’t your thing, or you’re put off by the potential side effects of acne
medication, don’t worry! It IS possible to cure acne naturally. Take a look at
some of our favourite natural treatments.
Honey Cleansing
Every morning, take half a
teaspoon of raw honey and use to cleanse your face, massaging into dry skin
before thoroughly rinsing. The honey removes any oil build-up, without over
drying the skin, and has fantastic anti-bacterial qualities that help prevent
breakouts.
Quick Spot Treatment

Mix together cinnamon, a
little bit of grated nutmeg and raw honey to create a paste. You can use this
as a spot treatment on zits, leaving for up to two hours, or as a full face
mask for approximately 15 minutes.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the
oldest ways to cure acne naturally. A pain-free experience (yes, really!), it
involves stimulating certain points on the body using small needles and can be
used to holistically treat a number of ailments, including acne. If you’re
still nervous about acupuncture, try acupressure; it uses the same principles
as acupuncture, using finger pressure instead of needles.
Take your Vitamins
Good nutrition plays a heavy
role when it comes to your skin. Alongside a healthy diet, consider taking
supplements to improve your acne. Important vitamins include zinc, Vitamin A,
Omega 3, Vitamin B, Vitamin C and Vitamin E.
Natural Exfoliation
Exfoliating is an important
part of your skin regime as it removes dead skin cells and unblocks the pores.
All you need for a natural at home exfoliator is brown sugar. Simply use in the
shower, massaging into troubled areas of the skin and rinse thoroughly. Use
sparingly, three times a month at the most, as this is a very powerful
treatment.
Soothe Redness
Use mint oil on inflamed red
areas of acne to soothe the area. Leave for approximately 15 minutes and then rinse.
As mint oil is an anti-inflammatory, it will not irritate the skin.
